How do you know you are progressing? Do you sometimes catch yourself doing something and remember back to a time when you thought very differently about it? Do you remember a time when maybe you couldn’t even do that thing at all? Do you see how easy that thing that used to seem insurmountable is now?
Do you notice when people are doing the same thing that you used to do? Do you allow the memory of that time to come up and then kindly release it? When you are faced with a challenge that you are terrified of, a challenge that requires you to step into your power and show others all that you are, do you back down or do you push and push hard to accomplish it? Do you do it and then force yourself to do it again and again until it becomes natural to you? These are your wins. These are your Finish Lines.
I remember the first time I expressed myself in a deeply personal way. The fear had such a grip on me that I genuinely thought I would pass out or die. I pushed. I pushed myself so hard. I visualized myself holding hands with Fear and going forth anyway. I did it, and guess what? I didn’t die. And since that time, things have been progressively easier for me to communicate to others. I remember the first time I called a real estate agent about a property, (I am involved with Commercial Real Estate). I had that same intense fear, but once again, I did not die. Yours will probably be different, but look for them, it’s so important that you do. If you miss these Finish Line flags of your life, you’re at risk of missing the Integration Process. For when you come to the point where you recognize the growth you have made and the effort you have put in, this is the time when you can anchor your progress. Celebrate this! Please don’t wave it away, don’t diminish it. This is a celebration of all the hard work you’ve put in, and, though the new habits created are not guaranteed, when you get to this point, it’s far more likely that if you slide back into your old ways, you will have the strength to get back up. Celebrate it when you recognize it, for this success will be your life jacket when life cycles go into low tide.
