Rooted In Wealth, Grounded In Power: Unlocking Your First Chakra For Stability And Success

Writer: Janice M. BurkeJanice M. Burke

Think about your relationship with money. There are so many thoughts, feelings, beliefs, ickiness and excessive desire around money that it makes it hard to understand what your own views of it actually are. In order for you to heal, getting the money aspect of life healed must become a serious aspiration. In order for all of your major chakras (each one specializes in one aspect of your life lessons) to be functioning in a healthy manner, the first chakra, that of stabilization, grounding, and, you guessed it, money, must be fully functioning and healthy. It is the first chakra for a reason. Everything else builds upon it. Every other life lesson needs for it to be strong and stable for them to have the resources needed to heal, open up and blossom as well.

It began to dawn on me that most people who experience financial problems, rarely associate it with needing personal healing. How about you, how do you view it?

Where are you at financially? Do you struggle paycheck to paycheck? Do you just make it and though you’re satisfied with that, if something goes haywire, you don’t have enough to take care of it and feel comfortable. Maybe you can do it, but it’s not really enough.

Ask why it’s something you struggle with. What do you say the most about money? What do you say when a friend asks you to join them for an expensive event? Do you say “I don’t have enough money”? What about if your car needs repairs? Is “I don’t have enough money” your constant refrain? Do you see how the things that you say the most over and over and over and over…those are your core beliefs?

So what is your core belief then and how can money help uncover your original belief about yourself? “I don’t have enough money.” What is this saying to yourself? That you don’t have enough money? Listen to it. Find the central word of that statement. What does that say about your core belief? That you’re not enough? You can’t heal yourself fully until you know what to focus on.

If you believe you’re not enough, that’s the thing that really needs to be worked on, because, if you’re not enough, how will you ever have enough? How will you ever stop struggling? You won’t.

You will go through life never having enough, just struggling by. Struggling by just like you did when you were a child. Trying to shrink away from the drama and chaos and pain. Trying to hide in the corner and not participate in life because everyone seemed crazy. Are you going to let your core beliefs get you until the day you die? Will you shrink away because your core belief is that everybody around you is crazy/unsafe and that you are not enough to deal with them appropriately?

What do you want from your life? This is real. This is not a fire drill. We are not going out to the street for a couple minutes like we did in high school, just to come back in again and do the same thing all over again.

Healing can be challenging, but it can be fun and rewarding as well. Treat your Inner Child. Treat your Inner Teenager. But do it in a way that is responsible, otherwise, you’re just exacerbating the situation and keeping it rolling. Be your Inner Adult. What would a healthy adult do? But before you choose that role model, think about it first. Make sure it’s the role model you actually want to be like, not just what you grew up with. Write down the qualities of a healthy adult. Write it down every day. Drill it into your head.

I would love to suggest a most amazing book to help you along. It’s by Jen Sincero and it’s called “You Are A Badass At Making Money”. It’s time to do the deep work in those areas of our lives that matter most. Begin at the beginning, the first chakra. Though your brain will be filled with plenty of resistance due to cultural misunderstandings, understand that money is one of the things that matter most. But, “money can’t buy me love“ you might say. But just remember this, the insights you get on yourself when exploring your relationship with it will surely aid in you getting that love that you want so much.
